Collecting Carrot Coins and Dressing Up Mocha

The carrots you gather while running are both score and Carrot Coins.
Coins don't vanish when a run ends — they stack up steadily, and you can spend them in the shop to dress Mocha up or to strengthen her abilities.

Where coins come from

| Source | Coins | |--------|-------| | Carrot | 1 each | | Passing 100m | 5 | | First clear of Today's Burrow | 30 (up to 60 on a streak) | | Three daily quests | 60 total | | Crystal gem | 15 (Crystal Cave) |

A single run usually nets somewhere around 15–30.
But as the table shows, the daily rewards dwarf that.
Doing Today's Burrow once and knocking out three quests brings in roughly 90 a day.
Dropping in briefly every day is far more efficient than grinding long sessions.

Where coins go

Fur colors come in 11 varieties — brown Mocha and cream are free from the start, and the rest run 150–300 coins. Accessories fit three slots (head, face, and neck), mostly at 200–450 coins.

Burrows are unlocked with coins too: 400 for the Crystal Cave and 600 for the Moonlit Burrow.
They aren't recolors — pace, obstacle density, and gravity all differ, so unlocking one around the time the game starts feeling routine is like getting a new game.

Permanent upgrades are the biggest sink by far, over 13,000 coins for all of them.
There's magnet duration (8→14 seconds), the pocket watch (3→5), the booster (3→4.6), the trampoline magnet (2→3.5), and a starting shield.
Once bought they're permanent, and they apply from your next run onward.

The things money can't buy

A few special items can't be bought with coins and unlock only through challenges.
The ribbon unlocks when you descend 500m in a single run, the scarf when you hit a ×5 combo (20 in a row), and the adventurer's hat when you clear 300m without taking a single hit.
Since you can't buy them, wearing one is itself a badge of skill.

What to buy first

If coins are tight and you're weighing the order, here's how I'd go.

Magnet duration first. Going from 8 seconds to 14 is the change you feel the most.
The magnet does less for collecting than it does for holding a combo together, and nearly doubling that window lifts the whole score curve.

Pocket watch duration second. In a game where late-run survival is score, stretching your reading time for a dangerous stretch from 3 seconds to 5 comes straight back as depth points.

Cosmetics can wait. They don't affect performance, so they're purely taste — and getting the upgrades first makes coins accumulate faster, which means you reach the cosmetics sooner anyway.
The achievement-locked items are independent of coins, so just keep them in mind as you play.

Unlock a burrow around the time the Dirt Burrow starts feeling stale.
New burrows have a different difficulty character, and they're more fun once you've built up some skill.

In the end coins point the same direction as everything else.
The farther you go, the more 100m bonuses pile up, and the more carrots you pick up, the more coins you gain.
Add a steady daily habit on top and what you want arrives sooner than you'd expect.
